Preservation Packaging
for Cultural Heritage
Made-to-Order by Packaging Engineers
We are packaging professionals with the expertise, machinery, materials, and methods that can improve how art & historic works are preserved.
Professional Packaging for Tangible History
With packaging engineers and a manufacturing plant at their fingertips, conservators no longer need to rely on DIY hand fabrication to obtain custom preservation packaging.
For over 35 years, we’ve converted barrier materials into bags, pouches, liners, covers, and other custom enclosures for a diverse range of markets with this in common: Their items, products, and goods are at risk from hazards like corrosion, bio-deterioration, electro-static discharge, and more.
Transmission of Oxygen, moisture vapor, or other elements into or out of their packaging could significantly affect product integrity as it reaches end users, so the perfect packaging solution needs to offer the appropriate barrier properties in addition to the right fit, especially when handling irreplaceable cultural heritage items.
We engineer cost-effective packaging solutions that conform to your unique performance criteria, always considering how your items are handled when inserted and removed, ensuring optimal protection.
Our Flexible Packaging Solutions Are:
Made-to-Order
Our products are tailored to your exact specifications, and we help guide you to the best solution that has the appropriate barrier protection in addition to the right fit.
Permeation Protected
Our hermetic seals, coupled with the appropriate material choices, prevent moisture vapour, oxygen, or other elements from permeating the material your product is packaged in.
Safe for At-Risk Materials
Our knowledge of packaging science and our vast library of materials allows us to recommend materials and structures that will protect and preserve cultural heritage items without subjecting them to further degradation.
Our Products
-
Flexible Barrier Enclosures
Our flexible barrier enclosures use proprietary closure systems, allowing as-needed access for long-term storage of art and artifacts.
They offer simple, fast, and effective preservation of documents, paintings, wallpaper rolls, clocks, hats, and more.
Items are easily accessed and removed for exhibition.
-
Sealed Packaging Systems
Our sealed packaging systems provide museum visitors with a glimpse of conservation techniques not usually seen within an exhibition space.
They are also perfect for visual monitoring of items in quarantine.
-
Modified Air Enclosures
Modified air enclosures are used for tangible items with critical environmental demands.
They are used in humidifying or dehumidifying an artifact, creating anoxic conditions, preventing corrosion, and more.
-
Controlled Environment Enclosures
Controlled environment enclosures are scalable, reusable, and flexible structures made from barrier materials with valving systems.
They are used for segregating new arrivals to collections, for quarantine, anoxic and/or humidification treatments, and more.
-
Disaster Preparedness
Our disaster preparedness systems are used for safe storage of cultural heritage items during renovations, moving, or emergencies.
They are reusable, resealable barrier enclosures that are scalable, and are made for individual items or groups of tangible heritage.
-
Fitted Covers
Our fitted covers are glove fit and hermetically sealed, making them ideal for anything from mining industry boring shafts to a 17th century carriage with horsehair upholstery, or for storage cabinetry and furniture.
They are used to isolate and improve in-situ micro-environmental conditions.

Barrier Roll Stock
While our specialty is manufacturing custom packaging products, some unique situations call for raw materials only.
We offer a selection of barrier materials for purchase in 200lf, 600lf, and 1200lf lengths. Please submit an inquiry below and we will recommend an appropriate material for your use.
Quality Matters
This is true of every project, but when it comes to tangible cultural heritage items at risk of degradation, quality control is critical. We’ve dedicated significant resources to ensuring our products are the best on the market, and this video gives some insight into what our quality procedures look like.
Our quality control program and GMP’s ensure hermetic seals on custom configurations that protect cultural heritage items from damage and assure that the contents are safely preserved while enclosed.
3D Barrier Chamber for Historic Objects
Artifact preservation is an art in and of itself. It takes cutting-edge technology and expert craftsmanship to ensure precious cultural heritage items stay around for future generations to enjoy.
This video gives insight into a recent project we created for the Peabody Essex Museum in Rowley, MA.
